Make a Star Wars Blaster Pistol DC-17 - Free Clone Wars Cosplay

Hello there, everyone! Using EVA Foam and a free pattern, I demonstrate how to construct a DC-17 Blaster from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. My excitement for the upcoming Bad Batch television programme has also grown, and I think this would be a fantastic complement to your cosplay. This was an extremely enjoyable construction, and I’m extremely pleased with how the instructional and prop turned out. In addition to the foam tutorial and Free Blueprints, I go over all of the painting techniques, including the application of graphite powder, to go along with them.

In the Star Wars universe, a blaster is a fictional firearm that appears on the battlefield. In the words of Lucasfilm, the blaster is “remote-controlled energised particle weaponry.” Many blasters are designed to look and operate like genuine weapons, including their appearance, features, components, operation, and usage. They are also reported to be capable of being customised with specific add-ons and attachments, with Han Solo’s blaster allegedly having been illegally modified to deal more damage while consuming less power than before.

A real-life Sterling sub-machine gun used by the United Kingdom’s armed forces during the second part of the twentieth century served as the inspiration for the iconic E-11, a basic mid-range weapon predominantly employed by stormtroopers in the Star Wars universe. The filmmakers made a number of design modifications, such as revisions to the magazine’s appearance.

Star Wars Blaster Pistol Design

The design of the E-11 blaster rifle in the films was based on the Sterling submachine gun, which was also used in the films. Based on the 7.63-caliber Mauser C96, the design of the modified DL-44 blaster pistol possessed by Han Solo was based on the Mauser C96, an early and successful automatic handgun that was utilised in World War I as well as World War II. The pistol was modified by the prop department at Lucasfilm, which included the addition of a sight and an emitter nozzle.

The blaster that was created for the 1977 film A New Hope was lost, and a second blaster was created using resin from the original cast that was used to create the first. The blaster was later utilised as a prop in the films The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, among other films. Others were Lewis light machine guns with the barrel shroud and pan magazine removed, which were used as ‘heavy repeating blasters.’

There were certain instances in which functional Sterlings shooting blank cartridges were used, with the laser bolt being added afterwards in post-production. In some scenes, the blank cartridges can be seen being ejected from the weapons and/or the actual sound of the blank cartridge being heard rather than being dubbed over by a sound effect, which indicates that the blank cartridges are the cause of the muzzle flash visible on screen.

During a family backpacking trip in the Pocono Mountains in 1976, Ben Burtt, a sound designer who worked on the Star Wars films, came up with the sound of blaster fire, which he used in the films. Burtt smashed a hammer against the guy-wire of an AM radio transmitter tower and recorded the sound using a microphone placed close to the impact site.

It is the inner workings of blasters that create particle beams, which are used to penetrate, melt, and demolish objects. As soon as the trigger is pressed, a high-energy gas is agitated and transformed into plasma by a power cell. Using collimating components in the barrel such as galven electronics and a focusing lens, this plasma is blasted through the barrel and emerges as a coherent energy bolt that is held together by the magnetic bottle effect.

As a result, the bolt’s intrinsic instabilty makes it difficult to aim with precision, and it will begin to lose coherence as it travels to its target as the plasma evaporates. Increased range and accuracy are possible because of the longer barrel because it allows for the installation of additional collimating components to correct these issues. Prolonged use will also result in overheating of the weapon, which can be avoided by using alloys that are more heat resistant, as well as heat-dispersal vents, cooling packs, and compressors to keep the weapon cool.

About Star Wars

It all started with the 1977 film of the same name, which swiftly became a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon. Star Wars is an American epic space-opera multimedia franchise developed by George Lucas that has spanned four decades. The franchise has been developed into a variety of films and other media, including television series, video games, novels, comic books, theme park attractions, and themed areas, resulting in an all-encompassing fictional universe that encompasses all of the characters. It is expected to be worth US$70 billion by 2020, making it the fifth-highest-grossing media franchise of all time in terms of revenue.

The original film (Star Wars), which was retroactively subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), which together formed the original Star Wars trilogy. The original Star Wars film was released in theatres on December 18, 1977. Later, Lucas returned to the series to direct a prequel trilogy, which consisted of Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2003), all of which were released in theatres (2005). Disney acquired Lucas’ production company in 2012, and with it, he relinquished ownership of the Star Wars franchise. A sequel trilogy, consisting of Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2018), was created in response to this (2019).
