Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. She was hoping for a quick solution, but unfortunately it isn’t that kind of cure. Giselle is made to feel much more out of place than she already did by Malvina Monroe (played by Maya Rudolph), the local queen bee in Suburbia, who has a brand new set of rules to follow.

Because she is dissatisfied with the fact that she has not had an easy time finding her happily ever after, she seeks the assistance of the magic of Andalasia. However, by doing so, she inadvertently transforms the entire town into a real-life fairy tale, putting her family’s prospects for a happy future in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the enchantment and figure out what it truly means for her and her family to live happily ever after.

Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino, along with James Marsden and Idina Menzel star in the film Disenchanted. Disney’s “Disenchanted” Sequel Set to Release in 2022

After the success of Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid,” it was only a matter of time before the studio announced a sequel to one of its other classic animated films. “Disenchanted,” the sequel to “The Princess and the Frog,” is set to hit theaters in December 2022.

The original “Disenchanted” was released in 2009 and starred Amy Adams as Giselle, a princess who is transported from her animated world to the live-action world of New York City. The sequel will see Giselle and her prince, Robert (played by James Marsden), adjust to life in the city with their two children.

“Disenchanted” is just one of several live-action remakes of classic Disney animated films that are currently in development or in production. Others include “The Lion King,” “Aladdin,” and “Dumbo.
