Star Wars Battlefront 2 Loaded With New Heroes (And Villains)

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Loaded With New Heroes (And Villains)

We’re still a painfully long ways away (like galaxies away) from Star Wars Battlefront 2 November 17 release, but quite a few details about the game have emerged since it was revealed almost a year ago.
One of the main complaints surrounding the first game was its lack of content, which Battlefront 2 devs at EA DICE appear intent on fixing. You lone wolf Jedi will get a fully-fledged single-player campaign to shoot, slice, or mind trick your way through, while multiplayer mavens will also enjoy loads of new content, including classes for your characters.

Interestingly, there won’t be a season pass for additional content on Battlefront 2, as has become the norm for most major game releases. The devs explained that they don’t want to fracture the online player base between those that have particular content and those that don’t, though some form of DLC will be available after the game’s release. That will be a significant change from the first game, which was criticized for being too light on content at release.

Of the most interest to us, however, is the expanded roster of playable characters that are scheduled to appear in the game. The first game had just six heroes released initially, but players spent most of their time playing as generic troopers until they found a character token on the battlefield that allowed them to control Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, or other heroes or villains.
Things will work differently in the sequel. Using one of the hero characters in multiplayer will apparently require some form of resource, which may also need to be collected on the battlefield, or may simply be the result of actions taken. And while the full roster has yet to be revealed, we do know that it will feature at least four new faces, which were shown in last month’s leaked trailer: Yoda, Rey, Darth Maul, and Kylo Ren.

Players will also gain more control over the hero characters, with some form of career system in place that will allow them to teach the actors new abilities and customize them to their personal play style, which sounds like the kind of feature that could add some much-needed depth to the game. In another interesting twist, the hero characters will be able to defy the otherwise era-specific battles, setting up for some encounters that may throw purists for a loop, such as Darth Maul taking part in a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Hero ships like the Millennium Falcon will also play a prominent role, as they’re being given just as much love as the heroes themselves. And like the heroes, the ships will also have unlockable abilities.
Perhaps one of the most exciting features that were recently leaked is the possibility that the game could be VR compatible on PS4, allowing gamers to experience the heroes in the most immersive way possible. Whatever the situation, we can’t wait to hear more about the heroes and villains we’ll get to play as on the big screen (or in the VR headset) come November. The trailer already has us drooling and ready to play! Don’t forget to have a look at the official site .
