A Court of Thorns and Roses is the title of a brand-new adult high fantasy novel series written by the American author Sarah J. Maas. The series kicked off in May 2015 with the publication of the novel with the same name. The story recounts the adventure of mortal Feyre Archeron after she is dragged into the faerie regions of Prythian for murdering a faerie. The story also follows the epic love story and great fight that follows when she is transported into the faerie worlds.
The books in the series have been included on the New York Times Best Seller list, and Hulu has given Ronald D. Moore the option to convert them into a television series.
Feyre, who is 19 years old, is found guilty of killing a wolf in the forest, and a beast-like thing asks that she be punished for it. She is kidnapped by the immortal fairy Tamlin, who takes her to the land of the faeries and holds her captive there. She moves into his mansion to be with him permanently. Feyre starts to come to the conclusion that all she has been taught in the past about the treacherous realm of the faeries is a deception after discovering that he is a High Lord of Prythian.
In November 2015, Jo Bamford and Piers Tempest of Tempo Productions acquired the opportunity to produce a film adaptation of A Court of Thorns and Roses.
In 2018, it was disclosed that the movie’s producers had recruited Rachel Hirons to serve as the film’s screenwriter.
20th Television and Hulu made the decision in March 2021 to convert the series A Court of Thorns and Roses into a television programme, and the news of this decision was made public in March 2021. In addition to Maas, Ronald D. Moore is going to be working on the development of the series. Maas revealed in an interview with The New York Times that she was working on the adaptation of the project alongside the writers and the show runner in her capacity as executive producer of the adaptation.
