How To Train Your Dragon | Official Teaser Trailer

From Dean DeBlois, a three-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner renowned for his work on DreamWorks Animation’s celebrated How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, comes an extraordinary live-action reinterpretation of the film that initiated this cherished franchise. Set on the rugged island of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been fierce adversaries for ages, we meet Hiccup (Mason Thames;

The Black Phone, For All Mankind), who is different from everyone else. As the innovative yet unappreciated offspring of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler reprising his voice role from the animated series), Hiccup challenges long-standing customs by forming a friendship with Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon.

This unexpected alliance unveils the true essence of dragons and questions the very core of Viking culture. Alongside his fierce and determined companion Astrid (BAFTA nominee Nico Parker; Dumbo, The Last of Us) and the village’s eccentric blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost; Snow White and the Huntsman, Shaun of the Dead), Hiccup faces a world rife with fear and misunderstanding. As an ancient menace threatens both Vikings and dragons alike, Hiccup’s bond with Toothless becomes crucial in paving a new path forward.

Together, they must traverse a fragile journey toward peace while transcending their respective worlds to redefine heroism and leadership. The cast also includes Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Gabriel Howell (Bodies), Bronwyn James (Wicked), Harry Trevaldwyn (Smothered), Ruth Codd (The Midnight Club), BAFTA nominee Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Murray McArthur (Game of Thrones). DeBlois is responsible for writing, producing, and directing How to Train Your Dragon.

He collaborates with three-time Oscar nominee Marc Platt (Wicked, La La Land) and Emmy winner Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns) as producers. This film is part of IMAX’s Filmed For IMAX Program which equips filmmakers with advanced technology to create an immersive cinematic experience for viewers worldwide.

Based on Cressida Cowell’s New York Times bestselling book series, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon franchise has enthralled audiences globally with four Academy Award nominations and over $1.6 billion in box office earnings. Now utilizing state-of-the-art visual effects, DeBlois revitalizes this beloved animated tale into a stunning live-action adventure that brings Hiccup’s and Toothless’ epic journey to life in breathtaking detail as they uncover profound lessons about friendship, bravery, and fate.
